An interview with.......
Recently the marketing team at Darcey Quigley & Co carried out an interview with the Credit Control Manager for a Plant Hire and Sales Company, to find out why she changed her process from using a Solicitor to a Commercial Debt Recovery Partner and how our service has helped over the past 3 years.
DQ: “Before you used a Commercial Debt Recovery Partner to recover your overdue or problem accounts, you used a solicitor, why did you decide to change this process and use a Commercial Debt Recovery Partner instead?”
CCM: “The process wasn’t working for us and it was very costly and time-consuming, both in the dealing with the solicitor from my side and in the time the process using a solicitor actually takes. We have now found out it could be done a lot cheaper and a lot quicker. We also decided to change because we realised it was the power of escalating the debt to a third party who wasn’t us, that made the debtor pay, but of course, when you do this through a solicitor it is so much more expensive and takes longer, with the commercial debt recovery process being just as effective, if not more effective than using a solicitor”.
DQ: “How much of your time was taken up using a Solicitor?”
CCM: “Far too much”
DQ: “Why do you think our process is so successful?
CCM: “As you build a relationship with your clients over the years and they are used to dealing with the same credit controller over and over again, they don’t believe it will ever be any worse than us chasing them and they see the mention of escalation as a threat only and don’t think you will ever take it any further. As Darcey Quigley & Co are a third party, the initial phone call and the direct approach by your Credit Management Consultant is usually enough to jolt them into realising that this is actually something serious rather than us just asking for money and it usually prompts payment straight away.”
“Since beginning to work with yourselves, we have been approached by many different Commercial Debt Recovery Companies looking for us to use the service with their company rather than with Darcey Quigley & Co, however I am happy to stay where we are, we are completely happy with the service that we get at Darcey Quigley & Co, people are offering lower fees but we would rather stay with DQ for the sake of 1 or 2%, as I know you are successful, professional and protect my future relationships with my customers and ensure we get our debt paid quickly.”
DQ: “Would we be your first choice for Commercial Debt Recovery?”
CCM: “Yes, definitely, I am more than happy with the communication that I get, the results that I get, so I wouldn’t be looking for anyone else to recover my commercial debt.”
DQ: “How would you sum up your experience with us since you started working with us in 2014?”
CCM: “Over the past three years I have had a very positive experience working with Darcey Quigley & Co. Using DQ has made my life a lot easier as I am not spending all my time chasing overdue or problematic accounts or dealing with paperwork to send them to solicitors. The process is very easy and straight forward from my side. The team at DQ are also very open and honest and will advise me at the outset if they don’t think the case will be successful, rather than giving me false hope. They will exhaust all avenues before advising me they cannot recover the overdue funds and as stipulated if they can’t recover on the odd occasion I do not pay a thing.
